Kratika Sengar to enter Bigg Boss house

This article publised on Times of India on Aug 19, 2011

Kratika Sengar, who essayed the role of Rani Laxmibai, is presently on cloud nine. This Kanpur girl has finally signed a contract for the upcoming season of " Bigg Boss".

A source close to Kratika confirms the news, saying, "Yes, Kratika is a part of "Bigg Boss'" next season. She has signed the contract but can't confirm this news to the media herself as she is not allowed to speak on this right now. But she is having mixed feelings about her entry in the "Bigg Boss" house. Kratika is a girl with a lot of self respect and she is not that extrovert. So, she is just worrying how she will live for so many days inside the house. Seeing the past few season, she fears coming into the limelight for wrong reasons.

Kratika is good with people who are good to her and she can be quite nasty if people instigate her. She doesn't want to show her darker side to the world on TV."

Every woman has traits of Jhansi Ki Rani - Kratika

this is the latest interview of kratika sengar..check this guys..

Dhanashri Kulkarni/Hill Road Media

Television actress Kratika Sengar might have done numerous shows on television, but she rose to fame with the role of Rani Lakshmibai in Zee TV's historical and mega hit show Jhansi Ki Rani. The show will end in the coming week time and she believes that even if the show ends, the character of Jhansi Ki Rani will never end. We spoke to Kratika Sengar about her journey, experience and lots more.

How has the experience been playing the historical role of Jhansi Ki Rani?
It's been an incredible experience which I will never forget in my acting career. I didn't know that I could ever play such brilliant character which would be praised by everyone. I also I feel satisfied as a performer. I want to thank the makers and God who gave me this character so early in my career. I have learned a lot from this show. I am happy that besides acting, I know various forms of acts like sword fighting, horse riding, martial arts.

What was your reaction when you were approached for this role?
I didn't know how to express myself and frankly speaking, I wasn't that sure about playing this character. But after lot of confusion and discussions, I finally agreed. Now, the journey of this great warrior lady is coming to an end, and I have mixed feelings about that. I will miss the action in the show.

What changes have you noticed in yourself?
Earlier I thought I was a very chui mui type of girl who could act only in saas-bahu dramas but now after one year of JKR, I feel I have grown up. I feel stronger both mentally and physically. By doing this role, I believe all woman have traits of Rani Lakshmibai in them. One just needs to explore our mind. I feel proud about myself.

What have you learned from this great personality?
I have learned from her many things. I didn't know that she was great political thinker and a social reformer of her times. Three things I have learned from Rani Lakshmibai is that it is very important for every woman to be strong mentally, to be truthful and be dedicated.

What kind of difficulties did you face while doing action sequences?
I feel everyday brings new challenges for me on this show. I had never imagined that I would be doing stunts or learning mallakhamb for the show. My legs and hands have been injured numerous times. Frankly speaking, it is not easy to shoot such scenes in heat as mostly we shot outdoors

What kind of response you have got from your fans?
The response is completely positive and encouraging. When I did Kasauti Zindagi Kay, I was called P2 but now everyone calls me Manu. I feel they will remember Manu for a long time. I am overwhelmed with response I get wherever I go.

What we can expect from the mahaepisode next week?
One can expect lot from the mahaepisode as the final battle will be shown. I want the audiences to watch the mahaepisode which airs 16th June as it was the day when Rani Lakshmi Bai breathed her last.

Kratika stuns her firang co-actors

Kratika Sengar stumped white-skinned actors on the show with her prowess over English. Here's yet another feather in Kratika's cap. She's been applauded for her command over horse-riding, swordsmanship, the intricate art of malkhamb and now for her mastery over English! For all this while, the white-skinned actors who play the roles of Britons in the show were accustomed to watching Kratika deliver long passages of Hindi dialogue in a single breath. Little did they know that Kratika could wax eloquent in English too.

Recently, enacting a scene where the Rani reads a letter sent to her in English, Kratika is said to have delivered an effortless shot and it was okayed in just one take! On watching her speak the language so well, foreign actors Ramola and Katrina, who have recently been roped in to play the wicked Lord Nelson's wife and sister respectively, approached her saying, "Kratika, we had no idea you speak such fabulous English. In fact, we had never heard you speak English at all. This discovery of Kratika's "Good English" sparked off a series of bonding sessions between the three women with the trio realizing they have plenty of common interests and shop for practically the same set of brands in cosmetics, dresses and love the same Hollywood actors!
